This is clearly one of the finest of its type we have handled.   While it is a large piece with separate upper and lower sections, it is quite airy and open, given the magnificent open carving throughout.   Please take a moment to study the details.  There is almost no surface which isn’t finely carved, and the arched pediment with grapes and gourd vines is magnificently executed.   What a great piece to display fine objects!  There are no alterations or repairs and it retains its original surface.   This piece is the best of the best and certainly a masterpiece.
