A Large Elaborately Carved Chinese/Japanese Bird Bracket, c.1890-1910

We are not sure of the origin, but it is definitely Asian.   The carving is truly exceptional and its developed with fine depth.  (Please see a photo of this large carving placed in an armchair, to show scale. )  Used decoratively, this makes quite a statement.  We don’t know if there was a pair or even an architectural detail, however, given its scale and carving, it’s an object that draws the eye, and rewards attention.
