While this clock is unsigned, it is readily attributable to Taylor as several of this grouping of clocks have been documented, all unsigned.  There is one in the White House, and attached, please find another example offered by Gary Sullivan in 2013.  This clock was handled by Sack and is a tour de force of beautiful contrasting inlays.  The swan’s neck pediment is elegantly formed and the profile of this clock is quite slender.  (See images).  Another desirable feature is the side-lights in the upper case which show the movement.  The dial is all original, as is the entire clock with the exception of the finial, which is historically correct and sand-cast.

When it comes to Federal clocks, this model is one of the best and most elaborate.   The mahogany is well figured and we have French polished the entire case as it would have been when it was created.

Height: 88 in.  Width: 17 3/4" Depth: 9"
