Announcement!  This item will be available at auction from Neal Auction Company on January 26th, 2019.  Preview exhibition is currently underway.  Click here to see our listings at nealauction.com.

Window seats are quite rare, and of course, can serve other functions as well, as this is small scale, although monumental in its appearance.  The reeded legs support carved panels with reeded columns and carved embellishment above.  For this later classical period, this is, by far the best of the form we have seen and, no doubt, was built for a house of equal stature.   This is a piece that could easily do justice to a hallway of the finest townhouse of its period.

We have completely reupholstered this piece from its webbed foundation.

Height: 27 3/4in.  Width: 51 in. Depth: 18 3/4 in.
Seat Height: 17 1/2 in.
