A Classical Italian Marble Clock with Bell, and Bronze Ouroboros Bezel, c.1840

The mountings on this clock are all bronze, with a magnificent bezel depicting the Ouroboros (a classical symbol of a snake eating itself, often associated with eternal regeneration). The marble is of a solid block and a beautiful piece of stone. This clock is unusual and quite elegant.
