Sofas of this form are relatively common compared to the armchair, which is almost never seen. It has its original casters and we have opened one of the panels in the back, evidencing its age, which appears to be somewhere in the mid 19th century, and beautifully executed. This chair has no repairs or alterations. It fabric is not new, however, it is appropriate and is still serviceable.
