A Large Giltwood Girandole Mirror, English/American, c.1810

This large mirror has been magnificently regilted by one of the best
regilters and retains its original convex mirror, which shows a little
oxidation beginning, evidencing its age. The grapes and leaves are
metal and applied, and the eagle on ball plinth all relate to a mirror
illustrated in the Henry Ford Museum. This Mirror a makes a dramatic
statement with its beautifully carved leafage pendant and elaborately
developed plinth the eagle stands on.
