This sofa has it all. It retains the finely carved Phyfe tablets that compose the crest rail, and instead of the usual reeded arm supports, finely carved dolphins are employed. Note the deeply carved scales, et al. This certainly is the work of a master, and if he were not finished, the paw feet show carved eagle heads above.

 Interestingly, this sofa was illustrated in Lockwood’s Colonial Furniture in America.
