A Pair of Wall Mounted Victorian Renaissance Revival Demi Lune Egyptian Marble Top Tables on Walnut Base, c. 1860

Pairs of period marble top demi Lune side tables are extremely rare, and these have a magnificent marble aspect. Note the somewhat greenish cast with white veins flowing as if in motion, capturing the molten silica that was beginning to cool down. We used to call this “bank marble”. It’s a wonderful stone, and the brackets are solid walnut, and quite substantial to support these marble stones, while giving a pierced, open, light aspect.
