This linen press has a very beautiful warm glow to it, as it retains an old surface that has been polished over through the years with no sanding or erosion to its original surface. It makes a very Chippendale presence with the stylized arched panel doors, which are seen on other linen presses of the period, made in New York, or New Jersey. A related cherry cupboard is illustrated in the attached, found in the Newark Museum.
