A Highly Carved Diminutive Mahogany Chippendale style Bureau / Cabinet, probably New York, 1890-1910

This small bureau / cabinet is the type of work produced in New York by Sypher & Co., and Ernest Hagen. It is of the highest quality, and all of solid mahogany. All bells and whistles of the Chippendale toolbag are pulled out. Note the carved knees, claw and ball feet, fully carved shell dropped pendant, and the elaborate shells on each door. If this is not enough, reeded quarter columns and beautifully carved gadroon edging on the top complete this small-scale piece.
