This classical work table is fully developed with mounts and full complement of drawers, which includes its original writing tablet (see detail). While this form is seen as being made in Boston by a number of shops, we attribute it to the Seymour shop on the basis of the drawer blockings, which, in the Seymour style are placed close together, as described by Thomas Mussey in The Furniture Masterworks of John & Thomas Seymour.
