A George III Painted Satinwood Pembroke Table with Canted Corners, England, first quarter 19th century
This is a magnificent satinwood table in all respects. The satinwood has magnificent striping, quite unusual and sought after. If this weren't enough, the painted decoration is of the finest. It has a beautifully painted oval central medallion on the top with floral motifs throughout. It is quite literally a piece de resistance of the form. This piece came to us from a collection assembled by The Pebble Beach Plantation.
