A Mahogany and Gilt Hepplewhite style mirror with Eglomise Tablet

Scroll down for 4 more photos

This is an excellent reproduction of the formal New York Hepplewhite mirror form of the early 19th century. It incorporates the urn with flowers above swan neck pediments terminating in carved rosettes. This is the full blown model with an inlaid shell and an eglomise reverse painting. These models additionally have leafage and Rosettes flanking the mirror all of which make for an impressive statement. This mirror was probably made turn of the century, and has some good years behind it as the mahogany has developed a warm glow over time. The original of this form is many times the price of this and only the connoisseur, upon inspection, can discern the difference, so when mirrors of this quality are affordable, we handle them, and have handled a number over the years.
