A Carved Mahogany Hepplewhite Armchair with Carved Legs, England, c.1800

This is just a single armchair, but it is quite an armchair. The carving and sense of design throughout shows a form of the best taste. Note the complexity of the arms, and the carved elements. The splat is very contained with rosettes and the legs have an added feature not usually found on these chairs, and that is the carved bellflowers running down the leg. This is a wonderful occasional chair that can be used in suite with a desk, and can be webbed or sprung. This chair is in excellent condition, and most clearly of fine taste.
