This is a fairly standard Rhode Island form with straight pad feet, the legs of which are pegged into the skirt, and the old scrubbed top similarly pegged from the top onto the frame. The oval form of the tavern table was probably the most popular, and this one has a nice old scrubbed top evidencing many years of use and care. We have another in our collection with the top slightly bigger, and more ovoid, with a simpler apron, (see sw01083).
