A Chippendale Mahogany Oval Drop Leaf Table, Salem, c.1780
This table has classic Salem claw and ball feet with the break at the knee typical of this school of cabinetmakers producing furniture there at the time. The top is heavy single board Santo Domingo mahogany that has been overlaid and French polished.
