This piece is historically meaningful as Swan’s brand comes with historical documentation relative to his life of which a copy of his “indenture” of apprenticeship accompanies this piece, and is quite detailed and tells a story of that time. Robert Lionetti, grandson of the famous dealer John Walton, used this piece as part of a furniture presentation at Winterthur. The construction shows wood of unusual thickness and retains its original old dry finish.
