A Queen Anne Tiger Maple Server, Highboy Base, Rhode Island, c.1760

Scroll down for 7 more photos

At one time, this was the base of a two-part traditional highboy, to which beautiful antique matching tiger maple boards were added to the top of the base, facilitating as it's use as a server or a large dressing bureau. The cabriole slipper feet are a Rhode Island/Newport trait and the structure itself is Newport style, i.e. the backboards dovetailed into the sides, which are a trademark of great quality for furniture made to last.
