Double ancestral portraits are rarer than individual portraits, and here, a Chinese official is seated next to his wife in ceremonial attire. Each is painted on its own rice paper and the design pattern below them shows these were meant to me mounted as a pair. These portraits came from a New England estate and are in excellent condition.
