A Carved Mahogany Empire Triple Decker shelf clock, CT, c.1835 by Orsamus R. Flyer

Scroll down for 5 more photos

Triple Decker clocks are rarer than the usual double and this clock is fully carved without skipping a beat. Although not very pretty, it retains its original mirror, which is far more desirable from a value standpoint, as well as all original painted surfaces below on the door panel. It is rare to find these clocks in impeccable condition as this, with its original weights, pendulum, finial, etc. Flyer's 8-day wooden movement clocks are discussed in NAWCC bulletin, Dec. 1965, p. 66.
