A Carved Gilt Classical Hepplewhite Mirror Probably American or English, c.1810
This is a beautiful mirror with a carved giltwood urn draped with leafage on top of a fine carved frame also of giltwood. This is not a cheap plaster later model, but of the period. Decoratively, the mirror below is embellished with draping swags; also, the border design encompasses variegated rope molding with its original boxed corner rosettes, all of which makes this a very inviting and fine mirror. The gilt is original, as is the glass.
