This mahogany card table is supported by two balanced columns on circular plinths, both of which are supported by four elaborately carved hairy paw feet. The top is composed of highly figured mahogany as is the apron. This is a relatively austere and strong representation of the classical form in both balance and clean form, all of which is offset with remarkable carved paw feet which are carved in an individualistic mode including scrolled acanthus leafage.

This table bears its original elaborate label (see detail) and papered lining. Documented examples are rare and this is an especially different card table of truly classic form.
