A Classical Mahogany Worktable with Astragal Ends Supported by Reeded Legs, Philadelphia or New York, c.1810

This worktable is of good size and has never had a hanging sewing bag. The majority of worktables of this style have workbags and are more to be considered sewing tables; but, some do not, and this table clearly was never constructed to have one. This table has two small drawers at the astragal ends which retain their original pulls. The central drawer has merely a key to open and close it. The legs are finely reeeded and terminate in the original brass ball fittings.
