A Hoop-skirt Rocker, Maple or Birch, probably New Hampshire, c.1820

This rocker has its original oak splint seat and first surface. The finials and arm supports are nicely turned and the arms are fully shaped, and the stretcher below the front of the seat had an added series of turnings. We have not sat in this seat because the splint seat is perfect and we view this chair more as a collector's item of an early, untouched, rocker.
