A Carved Mahogany and Marble Shaving Stand, mid. 19th century

This mahogany shaving stand with its original sterling silver shaving cup and silver brush handle (now with loose dried flowers) is in virtually mint condition. The mahogany on the mirror is beautifully pierced, as is the bracket upon which it swings. Also, the cabriole leg has acanthus carving on its knee with a beautifully turned drop pendant below the turned central post.
