A Carved Mahogany Classical Sofa, 1830, possibly Salem

This carved sofa has beautifully detailed carving on the upper edge of the crest rail which is joined at each end by carved rosettes and leafage. Note the mahogany is highly figured. The arms and base are reeded and embellished with turned blocks. The feet are classical paw feet with cornucopia directly above each spewing their fruits.
