A Mahogany George III Breakfront, England, 19th century
Generally, these breakfronts are quite large, and this one is an exception, as it is rather diminutive, making it a very useful piece for a modern home. Note the pediment has fine dental work above richly figured mahogany. The glazed doors have an unusual style of arches above four paneled doors, all with ivory escutcheons. This piece can be used as a bookcase, or more traditionally as a showpiece for china and silver.
