A Hepplewhite Federal Mahogany and Tiger Maple Card Table with Central Oval and Panels, Massachusetts., c. 1790, Provenance, Capt Pearce Estate, Providence, Rhode Island

Scroll down for 3 more photos

This table was acquired in 1994 at Northeast Auctions when they auctioned off the estate of Capt. Pearce of Providence, RI. This was a legitimate family piece and in original first surface. Much of the grunge hides the tiger maple apron. The card table is probably Massachusetts, however, this piece descended in Pearce's family. I was attracted to it because of its local Provenance, first surface, and condition.

Height: 27 in.  Width: 36 in. Depth: 17 in. - 34 1/4 in.
