A shaped top with edge inlay with a conforming apron is embellished with soft maple veneers all of which are supported by four tapered legs which are similarly embellished with line inlay and panels. Below the inlay panels are husk inlays typical of Rhode Island work. This example is closely related to the labeled Rawson table in the Mabel Brady Garvan collection and differs only in the use of additional panel inlays and is illustrated in American Tables and Looking Glasses by David L. Barquist on Exhibit 106, pages 206-208.

This table has an old, overlaid surface, and the condition is exemplary. Two dealers tried to buy it from us (at our home). It was never offered. It is better than the one in the Mabel Brady Garvan collection with the additional boxed inlays and husks at the top of the leg. The Garvan example has the label and ours is obviously from the same shop.
