A Large Federal/Classical Gilt Mirror with Original Reverse Painting, c.1820

This full scale mirror is all original and intact with a reverse painting depicting a rural scene with two people in a boat. Architecturally speaking, the mirror makes a strong statement with its flanking spiral columns supporting design embellishments above the reverse painting with a cornice molding featuring acorn corbels, a harbinger of the Empire style, which is now coming in vogue.
