An Inlaid Mahogany Federal Hepplewhite style Mirror, Wallace Nutting

This mirror is the classic Federal mahogany form with gilt embellshiments, introduced at the turn of the 19th century, or late 18th century. Wallace Nutting, who wrote the famous Furniture Treasury--the Bible to many antiquarians--in the 1930's and 40's, also created a line of furniture directly copied from the period originals. This is one example of that work.
