A maple candlestand with dishtop in old surface, New England, c.1760

This is a Provincial candlestand with individualistic styling as connoted in the development of the column, where a general baluster form sits above a series of ring turnings. The legs are also very minimalist with small feet. The top is a dishtop which did cost more to produce and was specially ordered by the client, as they cost more. This very charming table also has it original surface, which is oxidized through time and quite dark. It is in perfect condition.
