Southern Campeache Chair of Classic Form, c.1830-40

This campeache chair has horizontal arms. It is probably Southern and of delicate scale. Note the arm supports and stretchers are turned. These turned arm supports are unusual as these arms are generally scrolled, as is in other examples we offer. This chair has a muslin fabric ready for reupholstery and is in superb condition. The campeache chair is of Spanish design and very popular in New Orleans .
