Mahogany Classical Revival Center Pedestal Dining Room Table, c. 1880

This is a very interesting dining room table of substantial size in which its leaf supports are integrated into the dining room table proper. The top and leaves are of solid mahogany as are the main columnar support and feet. The feet are beautifully carved with acanthus and are architecturally very dynamic, with a restrained classical base.
