Mahogany Tilt Top Table with Birdcage and Spiral Urn, New England, c.1780

This table, from the look of its provincial and rather stylized claw and ball feet, is probably a coastal New England table. Except for the top, which is composed of a single board, this piece retains an original old surface. Also of note is that this table has carved knees which have been gently smoothed away through the years. The birdcage is competently executed and substantial.
