Mahogany 3-tier Dumbwaiter, English, possibly American, c.1780

This dumbwaiter is a fully developed model with claw & ball feet and carved knees. The columns are fluted and turned. This dumbwaiter is one of the best of the form and we say "possibly American" because of the shape of the leg and more importantly carving on the knee, which begins with an individualistic semicircle.
