Two Mahogany Hepplehwhite Slipper Chairs, New York, c.1790

These rare chairs are seldom seen in this form as they have a seating height that is somewhat lower than a dining room chair and meant to be used in the bedroom. These two chairs obviously came together and the armchair is particularly rare. These chairs have been stripped to show their authenticity and integrity.
