This chest has developed a warm glow that only aged birch takes on. When new, birch has a greenish cast, which, has dissipated over time to the more inviting and desirable golden tones that show what only time can do and the joy that can only come from owning a real antique. The chest is all composed of the solid and the drawerfronts must have been 4-inch thick birch as the oxbow form is carved out from the solid block.
