Mahogany Rococo Revival Center Table with Marble Top, c.1840-50

This exuberant piece is composed of solid mahogany which is vigorously sculptured into a tour de force. The center column has an unusual overhang leaf motif and the scrolling with a gradiated ball embellishment, makes a dramatic statement: do see detail. While this is a powerful center table, it is actually somewhat small and compact, which adds to the visual impact. The marble is original.
