Cherry Chippendale Tall Case Clock, J. Sargeant, Hartford, CT, c .1800

This clock is related to many Connecticut clocks of its period, with its traditional fretwork on the top of the bonnet with a whale’s tail motif and large hand-turned flame finials. This clock is embellished with quarter columns, dental work molding at the top of the base, and is all supported on its original Chippendale bracket feet.
