Rare Cedar Queen Anne Mirror, Bermuda, c.1760

This small mirror has the early rounded molding around the mirror at its top edges. The wood is cedar and has small delicate knots in the upper crest. Interestingly, the cedar is veneered and has a warm glow. It retains its original mirror and backboard. Colonial cedar furniture is typical of furniture made in Bermuda, which appears to have had the exclusive on this wood material.
