Mahogany Empire Dry Sink, New England, c.1830-40

This is not the ordinary inexpensive dry sink common in its day, but is composed of a solid, unjoined figured mahogany top with a complete mahogany interior. It is further embellished with pilasters typical of its time, which were used in some of the best casepieces.
