Empire Mahogany Shelf Clock by John Birge, Bristol, CT, c.1830

This is a classic form somewhat more ambitious than most with both original reverse painting and mirror. This clock has classic paw feet, sharply carved columns and upper pediment with pineapple et al. The works are partially exposed, given the design of its original dial.
