Mahogany Chippendale style Centennial Martha Washington Chair
During the last quarter of the nineteenth century, American classics of the colonial period were reproduced with varying degrees of authenticity. This chair has a nicely arched crest and arms which terminate with scrolls. The feet have acanthus carving with finely carved claw and balls. The rear legs have a defined cant to them which follows the same line as the rear stile of the chair.
