Mahogany Iinlaid Hepplewhite Bureau, New England, c.1810
This bureau is distinguished by its very tall French feet and tiger maple edge banding around its drawers. It is a small scale, rather delicate, provincial example of the Hepplewhite form of graceful style. The backsplash is subtle with scrolled rosettes, and the top is a thin, solid slab of mahogany, as are the tall French feet and apron.
