Classical Mahogany Serving Table, Philadelphia, Quervelle Circle, c.1830
Similar to sideboards which utilize the trapezoidal form, this serving table is highly architectural and ingenious in design construction. This relatively rare form relates to a grouping of furniture with architecturally developed angled pedestals reminiscent of Egyptain motifs found in Philadelphia work of this period by a group of cabinetmakers, i.e. Quervelle, Barry, Needles, etc.
