Solid Tiger Maple Chest with Shaped Backsplat, c.1830-40

All exterior surfaces, including side panels, et al are composed of solid tiger maple. (The drawer interiors are poplar). The tiger striping in the maple is of narrow curl and is consistantly of a strong tight curl throughout. The size is monumental and the backsplash is quite provincial and charming with a scrolled broken arch pediment. The feet are traditionally turned which end in a shaped ball.
