Fine Mahogany and Gold Leaf Chippendale Mirror, c.1790
This mirror is vigorously embellished with a gold leaf broken arch pediment terminating in carved rosettes. A large gold leaf vase final supporting brass flower mounts boldly finishes this mirror. These mirrors often have inlaid shells, eagles, et al and this example is no example with its inlaid conch shell. The mirror is old with evident oxidation.
