Mahogany Tilt-top Table, Newport, Rhode Island, 1755-1775

This mahogany table has a solid top of the best figured mahogany, which has a beautiful mellow color. The support is of a delicate baluster form and the feet, of spade form raised on pads. The foot is related to an example in the Newport Historical Society illustrated in American Furniture.
